he Suevi and part of the Heruls settled in Pannonia were subdued by the Lombards in 526 and groups of these people as well as of Bavarians, Gepids, Bulgars and Sarmatians also migrated with the Lombards to Italy. These are generally considered incorporated in the Lombard ranks rather then fielded as separate groups.
